UIL guidelines impact more than football and volleyball


Shelly Harris waited anxiously for the Texas University Interscholastic League’s decision on the fall season and like many other volleyball coaches she did not know what to expect.Harris, Lumberton’s head volleyball coach, heard all the rumors and the potential formats for a fall season over the course of the last few months — none of which calmed her nerves.But when the UIL finally made its announcement Tuesday morning that season would begin as originally scheduled for the Lumberton Lady Raiders — a 4A program — she was ecstatic over the news, even if it meant the season would come with a few exceptions.
